Telephonic Nurse Case Manager

Description: Seeking a nurse case manager in Kansas City MO for telephonic position for full or part time work. Phone contact with providers and insurance carrier.

Qualifications: Registered Nurse with experience in medical case management specific to workers’ compensation and high-risk injuries. CCM a plus. Must be assertive, have understanding of state workers’ compensation regulations, good written and verbal communication skills, computer savvy and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel software.

Onsite Disability Case Manager

Currently looking to recruit Master level VR Professionals to partner with us and a Disability Insurer to work onsite with employer groups and provide early intervention/prevention and other internal accommodation services for employees with disabilities or medical conditions.  The Disability Specialist will be responsible for providing ongoing consultation, support and communication between employee, employer, insurer, and healthcare providers to prevent work absences, and/or expedite the return to work process.  Position will serve as a conduit between all parties involved.

Areas of focus will include onsite prevention and injury/absence management, reasonable accommodation/ergonomic assessments, telephonic case management, early identification of cases needing outside vocational vendor assistance, and working with employer groups to create a seamless transition to vocational services.

Current positions available in Bellevue, WA and Portland, OR areas.  Future needs anticipated in other locations.

Qualifications desired:

  • Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Industrial Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or related field, or a BSN RN certified in occupational health and/or possessing medical/vocational case management expertise
  • CRC Certification Preferred (CDMS or CCM consideration)
  • Ergonomic certification/credentialing preferred
  • Two years experience working with disabled population
  • Knowledge of federal and state disability laws regarding access for people with disabilities; specifically ADA and FMLA
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community resources for people with disabilities
  • Experience in providing consultation and training on disability issues
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Strong experience in, and knowledge of, the vocational counseling process in STD/LTD arena
